Making a Difference: Empowering the next generation of female leaders

Naples Daily News: “…We’ll I’m proud to show you there is a move on, right here in Naples, to inspire young women to become leaders. The League of Courageous Women was founded just last year by Cyndee Woolley, a prominent local community leader.

“Our goal is to empower the next generation of female leaders by showing them their value and connecting them to distinguished female leaders in our community,” Woolley explains. “By giving young women the tools they need to create the change they want to see in the world, we are building a stronger community,” she stresses.

Woolley has surrounded herself with a team of women, all community leaders, who are actively involved in the cause by serving as members of the League of Courageous Women’s Board of Directors.”

League of Courageous Women holds first leadership conference

Fox 4: “This weekend the League of Courageous Women honored 17-year-old Ayanna Sheard for her outstanding community service.

She gives free makeovers to students with special needs. An act of kindness inspired by someone close to her.

“I have a cousin with autism. They don’t have the same thought process as us,” Sheard said. “So, I get to learn a different way of doing things and interact with new people.”

Earlier today she went to the league’s conference at Hodges University in Naples to learn about lifelong choices. She talked to Fox 4 about the choices she’s made that landed her at Florida Southwestern State College when she was only 16 years old. ”

We stand for developing leaders and making a difference for future generations.

As a startup organization, the League is a collaborative effort among volunteers and community partners to provide experiential-based educational programs. The organization challenges attendees to set courageous goals for self-improvement, advance their families and look for opportunities to proactively support other girls and women on their journey. Ultimately, the League seeks to create a ripple effect that improves performance in school, engagement in the community and give young women the confidence to become the leaders of today and the leaders of tomorrow.
